Faces

What started as a way to get some Christmas photos of my kids on a cold day has turned in to something really exciting. I showed my FACES project to a couple friends, and they FLIPPED OUT: they had to have one of their own kids. I spend a few minutes with each person in your family. We talk, joke, and I capture those unique expressions that make you, YOU. You get a beautiful, BIG canvas print of several faces of your loved ones. These sessions are also GREAT for headshots, social media profiles, etc. So contact us today to […]

Introducing the Crossroads Album

I have been working on this for months, and I am ECSTATIC to finally unveil our new album! This is a completely hand-crafted album, locally produced here in the Crossroads Arts District. I start with a canvas cover and premium watercolor pages, all hand printed at my studio, then work with a local artisan to bind everything into a beautiful heirloom album. Our usual January album sale is a March/April album sale this year. From now through April 15, you can take 20% off any album…so if you were married or had a kiddo/family session last year, now is the […]

New Studio = New Sale!

A funny thing happened on the way to building my new event space, I built an amazing new studio! With windows on three sides, 2500 square feet of beautiful hardwood floors, and exposed brick, it’s all ready for spring and summer photo sessions. So we’re throwing a BIG sale! Come check out the new studio for a kids/family/couple/(you name it) session. For just $200, you’ll get your session AND a 16×24 canvas gallery wrap print of your favorite image from the shoot. It’s a $550 value, kinda like our own little Groupon. Call or email TODAY to set up your […]

Just like last year, you’ll get a 30-minute family session, 25 personalized holiday cards (with your choice of image), and 20 high-resolution images on a disc to print yourself. New this year — we’re adding a Polaroid option! You can see some examples of my Polaroid work here. For $100, we’ll shoot some instant photos during your session (in addition to your regular digital photos), and you’ll take the real photos home with you! Additional cards are also available. You can check out the new designs for […]

Last show of the season at the Imago

My AMAZINGLY talented wife along with our dear and likewise gifted friend, Macklen Mayse, are showing at my gallery tomorrow for our final First Friday this season. The contrasting bodies of work make for an intriguing whole. It’s going to be beautiful on Friday evening, so come on out and see art and support local artists!

Introducing Maria

I am SO EXCITED to introduce my Associate Photographer, Maria Brenny. Maria has been shooting with me since last summer, and she continues to do absolutely amazing work for our clients. And oh yeah, everyone LOVES her. Her bright, cheery personality is contagious. Maria will be shooting weddings with me throughout the year. We will also be booking select sessions with her as the lead photographer. We’ll be announcing soon a new blog for Maria’s work — so be watching for that!

Email problems

We have been having some problems with email lately, especially last weekend. If you have recently emailed me but didn’t hear back, please resend or give me a call. (816) 842-0405

Additional cards are also available. Your disc will include high-resolution JPEG files and a license for you to print your files at home or at a photo lab of your choice.

September at the Imago – Don’t Miss It!

You don’t want to miss this show. We have gathered five wedding photographers to show off their best “Trash The Dress” images. If you’re not familiar with the genre, come on down next Friday (9/4/09) to see the imaginative ways photographers and brides show off wedding dresses one more time.

Rock Chalk!

As I said earlier, I had a great idea the other day. At least I think it was a great idea. I REALLY want to shoot a wedding that takes place at a tailgate party to a KU football game next fall (2010). If you and your fiancee are as nuts about KU as I am, let’s talk. I’ll shoot your wedding FOR FREE if you have the ceremony at a tailgate party, and the reception at the game (preferably in a suite). So spread the word…help me find the ultimate KU fans!

July First Friday at the Imago

Looks like Friday’s gonna be beautiful! So start off your 4th of July weekend with a trip to the Crossroads for First Fridays. We are super excited to have new work from Kelly Walker Chance in the gallery this month. Be sure to come check it out!

Telling Your [love] Story

So part of the new and exciting things happening around Stacey Schmitz Photography is the idea of Telling Your Story. I thought of this a few months back as a really great way of explaining in very few words just what it is that I love doing every day. Each of us has a unique story. Whether it’s the story of what’s happening today, or what we’ve been going through for a while, it’s YOUR story. And that story is reflected in the people around you. That’s what I strive to capture whether it’s on your wedding day, the week […]
