Lindsey and Evan had a BEAUTIFUL ceremony at the amazing cathedral downtown, and an elegant, fun reception at the Sawyer Room just down the street.

Maria and I had the amazing honor of photographing Chris & Jessie’s wedding this weekend at the fantastic Magnolia Hotel in Omaha, Nebraska. As usual, there is much more to come, but this time around I went a little crazy on the Polaroids. Here is actually a fairly small sample of the instant images I created this weekend. My favorite 100 type film, expired Polaroid Blue. Polaroid 600 SE with 75mm and 127mm lenses. Expired Image film, Spectra SE camera. The Sonar autofocus is awesome, it uses sound waves, so it can focus in complete darkness. Sweet on the dance […]
We were delighted to spend a Friday afternoon and evening with Heidi and Darrin on their big day. You might remember their awesome carnival engagement photos. Just as Kansas City’s newest couple was getting ready to head out of the church for their reception, a ginormous thunder storm hit. They ducked out the door into their waiting car, but everyone still got soaked. Everyone took it in stride, and went on to a fantastic party.
Kelly & Ryan had a beautiful day at Redeptorist Church, then a crazy fun reception at Union Station. These two put a TON of work and their own style into their day, and it really showed!
We got a *LITTLE* reprieve from the insane heat for Ryan & Kelly’s wedding yesterday. More to come of course, but here are some Polaroids! This was my first wedding to try out the new PX70 Color Shade film from Impossible. If you follow me on Twitter, you know that I am completely obsessed with this new film. Images from this film get better after 24-48 hours, but I just couldn’t wait to post them! These images were shot with my Polaroid SX-70 Alpha Executive Edition.
Cara & Ian’s wedding was a HOT, beautiful, romantic, intimate day. They met at Rita’s on the River, a Mexican restaurant (really yummy) and margarita bar on San Antonio’s Riverwalk. The year was 2008. Cara & Ian were in town for a little thing we like to call the 2008 NCAA National Championship which was won by a little team we like to call the Kansas Jayhawks. They returned to the place they met to get married in front of just a few of their closest friends and family.
This was such a special wedding. I’m going to keep you in suspense until the full post to tell you why, but here are some Polaroids from last weekend. I headed down to San Antonio for Ian and Cara’s beautiful, intimate wedding on the famous Riverwalk. I also took the opportunity to shoot my first pack of Polaroid Blue 100 film, and ohmygosh I am in love with this material. (Shot again with my Mamiya/Polaroid 600 SE).
Maria and I had a FANTASTIC time with Amy and Bryan and all their friends. The entire day was full of fun and love. They wanted the day to be a laid-back celebration of their lives together, and that’s just what they got. The ceremony and reception was at one of my favorite venues, the Berg Event Space. All the girls were styled GORGEOUSLY by the very talented CaraSue Hall.
There’s much more to come, of course, but here are a few Polariods from Amy & Bryan’s awesome, awesome day! For the photo-nerds: the first image is from an SX-70 Sonar, the rest are from my new (to me) 600 SE.
Aly & Clint has us out to Manhattan to shoot their giant party — I mean wedding. Nah, I mean giant party! These guys had so much fun with their families and friends. And we had some pretty sweet access to the football field too.
Maria and I traveled out to Manhattan (Kansas) for Aly & Clint’s mega-fun wedding blowout extravaganza 2010! It included fisheye shooting a 20+ bridal party in a bar, all kinds of bridal party portraits at Bill Snyder Family Football Stadium, and oh yeah….Polariods! The full wedding blog to come, of course.
One of the most important things in my world is family. The same is true for Lara & Vince. They had a BEAUTIFUL outdoor ceremony at Lara’s parents’ house — the house where she grew up. It’s so great to get to spend time with my amazing clients in such a special place. They were surrounded by close friends and family for an intimate ceremony, then everyone headed down to Club 1000 for an awesome reception with the KC All Stars.
The rain stopped JUST long enough for Jessica and Jason to head outside for some awesome fun photos with their friends. And no one let the rain the rest of the day get them down. As I went through the images from their day, I kept seeing smile after smile all over the place!
So you never know what you’re going to get with Kansas weather in the spring. Sam and Becca’s big day was FREAKING WINDY! We’re talking 40 MPH gusts, easily. Becca braved the wind with her gorgeous down-do (is that the correct term — opposite of an up-do?) and we all had a crazy fun time. These two are in the middle of a whirlwind — wedding, graduation, honeymoon, and moving all within a few weeks! The ceremony was at the always fantastic St. John the Evangelist in Lawrence, with a beautiful reception following at the brand-spankin’ Oread Hotel. The ladies […]
Jill & Joe had a GORGEOUS ceremony at Atonement Church, then a fun, classy reception at the Hobbs Building. The weather was beautiful, and they were surrounded all day by friends and family who were so genuinely happy for them. Maria and I had the pleasure of working with our dear friend Jan, who shot video. I’ll be sure to let you all know when the video is ready, it’ll be awesome! And Maria will have her new blog up in the next couple days. I’ll post a link here to her post as soon as it’s ready.
